YOUR VOTE COUNTS!

As a reminder...our readers will vote on who each of us should take on a second date! This date will be a group date with all three participants in this contest. The winner (or the person with the most dates), will receive a free date, paid for by the other two contestants.

Your chance to participate will take place THIS WEEK! Voting will be open ONLY Monday, 01 February until Friday, 05 February. He or she who receives the most votes will be announced once final plans are in place.

Although it may seem that you can vote more than once on any given computer, only the first vote actually counts (trust us, we've tried it out).

Our final blog posts will be written about our second dates. Thanks for your support in our friendly dating competition! We have really enjoyed this opportunity to get a jump start on our personal goals.

Happy Voting!

Jon - Date #12: Carmen

Name*: Carmen
How I know her: We were in a musical together.

Last night I took Carmen to the opera at Capitol Theatre. We got downtown earlier than expected, so to pass the time, we ate dessert at a nearby bakery. We got so distracted in our conversation that we almost showed up at the theater too late. Fortunately we got there just before the opera started. Carmen (the opera) was awesome! It had everything you could hope for: love, betrayal, fight scenes, murder, and gypsies. Carmen and I both loved the show and had a wonderful time. We agreed that it was fun to go to a classy event like the opera.

Best Quality: Carmen is always incredibly enthusiastic about everything. I love how she has so much excitement in her voice whenever she talks.
Highlight of Date: We kept singing all the songs we know from the show (there's at least 3 I know anyone would recognize). We didn't know the words, but it was fun to hum the tunes.
What I Admired: Opera is not everyone's favorite thing anymore, but Carmen loved it probably more than I did (I loved it a lot). I think it's great that she has such an appreciation for the fine arts.

The word I'd use to describe the date is: elevating

*Names are different than normal.
