YOUR VOTE COUNTS!

As a reminder...our readers will vote on who each of us should take on a second date! This date will be a group date with all three participants in this contest. The winner (or the person with the most dates), will receive a free date, paid for by the other two contestants.

Your chance to participate will take place THIS WEEK! Voting will be open ONLY Monday, 01 February until Friday, 05 February. He or she who receives the most votes will be announced once final plans are in place.

Although it may seem that you can vote more than once on any given computer, only the first vote actually counts (trust us, we've tried it out).

Our final blog posts will be written about our second dates. Thanks for your support in our friendly dating competition! We have really enjoyed this opportunity to get a jump start on our personal goals.

Happy Voting!

Jon - Date #16: Ruby

Name*: Ruby
How I know her: She's in my ward.

Okay, so when Keith invited me to double with him, I couldn't resist. It was such a great date idea! We went out to the middle of nowhere to build a potato gun. Keith's awesome idea also included having the girls do the actual building of the gun. They did an awesome job. We only had one minor glitch of getting the combustion chamber to properly seal, so we weren't successful and getting any potatoes into the air.

Fortunately, we had also planned on building a campfire. This was a much more successful attempt, and we enjoyed a huge bonfire in no time. We had donuts, Starbursts, and lots of fun. And of course Ruby was as fun as could be! We bonded over cupcakes and music, and really had a great time. Thanks for being so cool, Ruby!

Best Quality: Every time I see Ruby she is so positive and happy. It's great to see her taking such a good attitude toward life.
Highlight of Date: At one point on the date we were walking to Keith's truck to see if he and Shayla were stranded. We started hearing gunshots and started to duck. It was probably neither necessary nor effective, but it was funny all the same.
What I Admired: If any girls want to know how to impress a guy on a date, you should talk to Ruby. She was the epitome of service--she gave me cupcakes she had made that day, she cleaned my windshield at the gas station (it wasn't that dirty), and she lent me the hood of her coat when she saw my ears were frozen. She wouldn't take no for an answer on any of these.

The word I'd use to describe the date is: adventurous
Ruby's cupcakes are 10 times better than any local cupcake stores you may or may not have heard of.

*Names are different than normal.
